We have just finished two full weeks of summer break! I have enjoyed planting flowers around my home, creating a welcoming and colorful atmosphere!

I have gone on a couple of adventures through the books I have read so far. I have set a goal of 105 books to read for 2016, but it's not about hitting that goal. For me, reading is about escaping to a place, whether it's a palace, a different country, an island, or the beach! Reading allows us to meet so many new people, and it allows us to discover things about ourselves. I will continue to post some good reads.

1.) The Selection Series: If you want a romantic scene mixed with a competition, this series is for you! Taking place in a palace and the characters compete for love, readers also fall in love with the story . Quick read!

2.) The Fifth Wave: I know, I know! More dystopian literature! But this genre is so engaging, you root for the protagonist to save his/her community! Another female protagonist, Cassie Sullivan, tries to save her brother, herself, and her town from a mysterious being trying to wipe out humanity.

Keep checking back for more book updates and everything English! And my Advanced kiddos, I hope you have begun your journey to Jackson, Mississippi with Skeeter, Minnie, and Abilene.
